Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use these themes on OFW or ARK / LME / PRO / blah blah CFW?
Yes, all .ptf themes are official formats supported by the PSP and do not require custom firmware to run. They should work on everything as long as you're on 6.XX firmware (older firmwares potentially work as well, but are not tested).
Why can't I download a theme?
The link for that theme might be broken or you might have reached the 15 themes per minute quota. This quota has been added in order to deal with web scrapers and AI.
How can I hide the "Extras" category?
You must be running on CFW (your PSP must be modded) in order to hide the "Extras" category on XMB.
On ARK-4 / ARK-5 CFW:
- Use the D-pad to navigate to the "Extras" category.
- Highlight "Custom Firmware Settings" and press X.
- Highlight "VSH Region" by pressing Up/Down on the D-pad and press X.
- Change the "VSH Region" to "Debug I" or "Debug II" and press X to save the setting.
- Once selected, press Select to bring up the VSH MENU.
- Use the D-pad to highlight "Reset VSH" and press X.
- The PSP will restart the XMB, and the "Extras" category should now be gone. To bring it back, simply set the "VSH Region" to "Default" and restart your PSP again.
On other CFW:
- Press Select to bring up the VSH MENU.
- Use the D-pad to highlight "RECOVERY MENU" and press X.
- On the Recovery Menu, highlight "Configuration" and press X.
- Highlight the "Fake Region" option.
- Change the "Fake Region" to "Debug Type I" or "Debug Type II" by pressing Left/Right on the D-pad.
- Once selected, press O to go back.
- Highlight "Reset VSH" and press X.
- The PSP will restart the XMB, and the "Extras" category should now be gone. To bring it back, simply set the "Fake Region" to "Disabled" and use "Reset VSH" again.
How do I dump my PSP's current applied theme/wallpaper to the Memory Stick™?
themadump (by Cat Magic Spell): Use this tool to dump your current applied PSP theme to Memory Stick™.
wallpaper_dumper (by krazynez): Use this tool to dump your current applied PSP wallpaper to Memory Stick™.
Both programs are signed, meaning they can be used on both official (non-modded) and custom (modded) firmware.
